SERIES ONE EPISODE GUIDES - SHOW 1 | SHOW 2 | BACK

"Another 30 minutes of abominable tape-friction."

Star interviews are promised tonight with impressionist Steve Coogan & superstar Whitney Houston. But, without further ado, let's get the news out of the way! The new, one-sided 2pence piece was introduced today , it's exactly like the old one - but just with one side.

This week, Armando is investigating the "bad idea" 12" remixes, starting with an over-long rendition of Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way" which stalls at the opening riff for approximately 4 minutes. Continuing with a musical theme, the news is closed with the fact that the singer Michael Jackson is suffering from a collapsed larynx.

Frank Black's "Fu Manchu" is up next, with pop facts draped over it by the team of ITV's "The Chart Show". From them, we learn such facts as "Frank Black has a car made of milk" before passed back to Armando & this week's posse. It's Mr Philip Dawsons of Ladbroke Grove again, and this week he's gone out & bought a family!

The time for another bulletin is shortly upon us, and it's Suzie & the colour of trees, which is swiftly followed by another extract from Simon Bates' "Best Of Our Tune". It's out now!

"Comedy impressionist" Steve Coogan is the next guest on the show, but he's not really impressed with Armando's interviewing style; "I'm not a private investigator, I'm just a funny voice man!". The interview is swiftly aborted and Armando reveals a few mis-heard lyrics before going on to announce the latest nail in the BBC's coffin - they have now resorted to advertising with some entirely inappropriate ads for McKorkindale's Vinegar.

Entirely unrelated, Armando jovially goes through a list of threats that have been sent to him throughout the week, before handing back to The Chart Show team to commentate on "Sugar Cane" by Sonic Youth.

Back in the studio sees a second attempt at the Steve Coogan interview, which car-crashes badly as the incompetent posse misunderstand his explanation of the Paul Calf character and unwittingly wind up the Mancunian comic.
A severely cut-up news then precedes Armando's investigation of the latest music formats.

As promised, the Whitney Houston interview is up next, discussing her fixation for body-guards, and this closes the show with another trademark Iannucci cut-up shifting between Houston & Dolly Parton's versions of "I Will Always Love You" and some drunk Glaswegians.
