And
what a popular studio that is, from the sound of things.
Welcome to the last in the series of Fist Of Fun. As the series draws
to a close, let's look back at the reviews the duo have received in
the national press. They've had all of two reviews. The NME - called
them "brilliant" , whilst opinion was divided at the Melody
Maker, who thought the show was "shite".
Right on the cusp of the brilliant / shite interface, there.
As it's the last show in the series, they've been allowed to bring
in games! Rich has brought in "Mousetrap" with the obligatory
one vital piece of mechanism missing, Stew,
on the other hand, has brought in five dolls that represent all the
people that have lied to him or about him in the entertainment industry
throughout the last five years. And some skewers.
A
lot of important things have happened in the last 6 weeks, but for
Rich, the biggest tragedy is the return of TV's Rainbow
- but without Geoffrey
from Rainbow. To investigate the issue, please welcome Geoffrey
from Rainbow
Geoffrey from Rainbow, as Rich & Stew insist on calling him, tells
all about his time on "the first fly on the wall documentary"
to feature an ordinary man, a bear, a pink hippo, and a sort of zip-mouthed
thing.
They all got on so well, and had a great time living in the house,
says Geoffrey
from Rainbow. This confuses Rich - "But if you all got on
so well, why the split from the other Rainbow guys?"
Well, it transpires it wasn't Geoffrey
from Rainbow's idea. He'd just popped to the shops to buy some
crayons, and when he got back all his stuff was out on the lawn, and
he'd been replaced by a politically correct female puppet!
On hearing this news, Rich encourages listeners to petition Dawn Airy,
the TV exec who axed him, and get Geoffrey
from Rainbow back on Rainbow where he blelongs.
Time now for the show's first natural break. Imagine if you will,
that Ian Krankie off the krankies had abused the trust placed on him
by his parents & had sexual relations with wee Jimmie Krankie...
The resulting child would - Rich imagines - resemble Peter Baynham
Raj Patel from Maston News in Balham is here with Peter this week,
and Peter's brother Charlie has disappeared, owing him a pound.
So Peter shares with us his recipe for delivery pizza before interviewing
Raj about the purchasing of Extra Strong Mints
Handing back to the studio, we touch on the story of John
& Lorena Bobbit that had hit the headlines at the time.
We
speak to Lorena on the phone first, and find out how she's getting
on, before speaking to John to tell his side of the story. Unfortunately,
as he's recounting the events to the studio audience, he - inevitably
- gets cut off.
Rich announces, with great pride, now that being in Fist Of Fun has
changed his life. Imagine hanging out with celebrities like Dale Winton
& Geoffrey
from Rainbow! So, no sooner has he got his new-found celebrity,
Rich is out to abuse it. He's straight on the phone to Sega's PR people
and trying to blag some freebies in return for saying how great they
are on the air.
Rich has now had enough of Stew's latest piece of Somerset baiting
and suggests that his county-folk take a stance - together - to stop
this terrible stereotyping. It's like the story of the 101 Dalmatians.
No - it's nothing like that - and to prove it, it's time for one more
of Stew's True Fables. This time, 101 Men.
And that's more or less it. The series is over, and Rich has been
thinking.
He & Stew are sharing a house at the moment, and working together,
it's almost like a marriage.
Of course, the main difference between their relationship & a
marriage, is that when tensions arise in a marriage, you can always
make it up with good, loving sex.
Rich seems alarmingly keen to pursue this avenue, so Stew swiftly
cuts him down - but allows for a advert for homosexual sex, the promotion
of which is actually illegal - but, we're reminded - the legality
depends on the context, and this context was to be needlessly controversial
at the end of their series.
This
week's cast has been:
John Thompson, Peter Baynham & Rebecca Front - and let's not leave
Raj Patel & Geoffrey
from Rainbow out.
